PROPERTY: Requires the return of property or property rights acquired by the Coastal
Protection and Restoration Authority for the Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion
1 AN ACT
2 To require the return of certain private property or property rights acquired by the Coastal
3 Protection and Restoration Authority for the Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion
4 project; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. Any property sold to or expropriated by the Coastal Protection and
7 Restoration Authority for the Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion project shall be returned
8 to the prior owner for an amount which shall not exceed the amount the prior owner received
9 as compensation for the sale or expropriation.
10 Section 2. Alternatively, at the option of the prior owner, the Coastal Protection and
11 Restoration Authority shall execute an agreement with the prior owner to allow the prior
12 owner access to the property sold or expropriated for the Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion
13 project for recreational purposes.
