1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 46:450.8(A)(1), relative to Medicaid coverage for pregnant
3 women; to provide Medicaid coverage for continuous glucose monitoring devices
4 in certain circumstances; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 46:450.8(A)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 §450.8. Continuous glucose monitors; Medicaid coverage
8 A. Except as provided in Subsection B of this Section, the Louisiana
9 Medicaid program shall provide coverage for a continuous glucose monitor for the
10 treatment of an enrollee who has one of the following conditions:
11 (1) Any type of diabetes, including but not limited to gestational diabetes,
12 requiring use with the use of insulin more than two times daily or evidence of level
13 2 or level 3 hypoglycemia.
