2 To amend and reenact R.S. 40:1125.1(B)(1)(introductory paragraph) and (2) and to repeal
3 R.S. 40:1125.1(B)(1)(d) through (h) and (10), relative to the Louisiana Sickle Cell
4 Commission; to provide for the members of the Louisiana Sickle Cell Commission;
5 to provide for the initial meeting of the Louisiana Sickle Cell Commission; and to
6 provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 40:1125.1(B)(1)(introductory paragraph) and (2) are hereby amended
9 and reenacted to read as follows:
10 §1125.1. Louisiana Sickle Cell Commission

12 B.(1) Thirteen members shall be appointed by the governor, subject to
13 Senate confirmation, as follows: The following members shall be appointed by the
14 governor and subject to Senate confirmation:

16 (2)(a) Two of the members shall be as follows: The following shall be
17 members of the commission:
18 (a) (i) The secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health or his designee.
19 (b) (ii) The Medicaid director of the Louisiana Department of Health or his
20 designee.
21 (iii) The executive director of the Sickle Cell Association of South Louisiana
22 or his designee.
