HIGHWAYS/INTERSTATE: Designates the new bridge to be constructed over the

1 AN ACT
2 To designate the new Mississippi River bridge as the "President Donald J. Trump
3 Expressway"; to provide for implementation; to provide for effectiveness; and to
4 provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. The new bridge to be built across the Mississippi River, connecting
7 Louisiana Highway 1 to Louisiana Highway 30 shall be known and is hereby designated as
8 the "President Donald J. Trump Expressway".
9 Section 2. The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors are
10 hereby directed to erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this designation once
11 the bridge is constructed, provided local or private monies are received by the department
12 equal to the department's actual cost for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and
13 installation of the signage, not to exceed the sum of seven hundred fifty dollars per sign.
14 Section 3. This Act shall become effective if and when the federal government
15 provides a substantial amount of funding for construction of the bridge, but only if such
16 funding is provided prior to noon on January 20, 2029.
