1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 40:5.10.1(B), relative to the Imported Seafood Safety Fund; to
3 provide for the purpose and use of appropriated funds; to provide for an effective
4 date; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 40:5.10.1(B) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 §5.10.1. Imported Seafood Safety Fund

9 B. The monies in the fund shall be appropriated to the Department of
10 Agriculture and Forestry and expended solely for the purpose of enforcing the
11 provisions of R.S. 3:4749 et seq. and to administer a program to market and promote
12 Louisiana seafood.
13 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
14 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
15 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
16 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
17 effective on the day following such approval.
