ECONOMIC DEVELOP/DEPT: Provides for eligibility requirements for companies
applying for the High Impact Jobs Program
1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 51:2771(C)(3), relative to eligibility requirements for the High Impact Jobs
3 Program; to provide for ineligibility of a company with a certain number of
4 employees who qualify for certain assistance programs; to provide for coordination
5 between Louisiana Economic Development and the Louisiana Department of Health;
6 and to provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 51:2771(C)(3) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
9 §2771. High Impact Jobs Program; fund

13 (3)(a) A company that has twenty percent or more of Louisiana employees
14 who qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, shall be ineligible
15 for participation in the High Impact Jobs Program.
16 (b) LED shall coordinate with the Louisiana Department of Health to access
17 the required information to implement this Paragraph.

Abstract: Makes a company ineligible for the High Impact Jobs Program if a certain
number of its employees qualify for SNAP benefits.
Present law provides for the High Impact Jobs Program.
Present law provides for the eligibility of companies in the High Impact Jobs Program.
Proposed law adds that a company that has 20% or more of La. employees who qualify for
the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), shall be ineligible for participation
in the program.
Proposed law further provides that LED shall coordinate with the La. Dept. of Health to
access the required information to implement proposed law.
