2 To amend and reenact R.S. 39:330(B)(4), relative to state property; to provide a preference
3 for the purchase of certain surplus property by persons in the extended foster care
4 program; to provide an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 39:330(B)(4) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 §330. Responsibility for property; bond for property manager; trade-ins for higher
8 education boards and institutions and vocational-technical schools

12 (4)(a) Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph (3) of this Subsection
13 relative to surplus computer equipment, first preference in the acquisition of surplus
14 computer equipment authorized for disposition shall be given to public elementary
15 and secondary schools in the state, and community and technical colleges under the
16 management and control of the Board of Supervisors of Louisiana Community and
17 Technical Colleges.
18 (b) Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph (3) of this Subsection
19 relative to surplus vehicles, first preference in the acquisition of surplus vehicles
20 authorized for disposition shall be given to persons who are eligible for and are

4 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2026; if vetoed by the governor
