1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact Code of Criminal Procedure Article 205 and to enact Code of
3 Criminal Procedure Article 202(H), relative to arrest warrants; to provide for the
4 authority of a magistrate to recall an arrest warrant; to provide for notification; to
5 provide relative to the effective period of arrest warrants; and to provide for related
6 matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. Code of Criminal Procedure Article 205 is hereby amended and reenacted
9 and Code of Criminal Procedure Article 202(H) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
10 Art. 202. Warrant of arrest; issuance; recall

12 H. A magistrate may recall a warrant of arrest that he has previously issued
13 and shall immediately notify by written notice the office of the district attorney and
14 the law enforcement agency that is responsible for execution of the warrant.

16 Art. 205. Effective period
17 A warrant of arrest remains in effect until executed or recalled.
