waterway projects
1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 34:3472(A)(1), relative to timelines for submitting applications
3 for funding of any waterway projects by a governmental entity; to provide for a
4 semi-annual basis for application submissions; to provide for the dates of application
5 submissions; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 34:3472(A)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
8 §3472. Methodology for dredging and deepening project evaluation
9 A.(1) Applications for funding of any waterway project may be submitted
10 by any governmental entity on a quarterly semi-annual basis, except as provided in
11 R.S. 34:3476. Applications shall be submitted to the office no later than the first of
12 March, June, and September, and December of each calendar year for consideration
13 of funding or funding obligation authority in the following fiscal years. Applications
14 submitted in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter shall be subject to the
15 provisions of R.S. 39:101 through 128. Information to be provided in the application
16 shall include but not be limited to the following:

Abstract: Changes the timelines for submissions of applications for funding of any
waterway projects by any governmental entity.
Present law requires applications for funding of any waterway project may be submitted by
any governmental entity on a quarterly basis, except as provided in present law. Further
requires applications be submitted to the office no later than the first of March, June, Sept.,
and Dec. of each calendar year for consideration of funding or funding obligation authority
in the following fiscal years.
Proposed law changes the requirement for the submission of waterway project applications
from a quarterly basis to a semi-annual basis. Further removes the requirement that these
applications be submitted on the first of June and Dec.
