HIGHWAYS/INTERSTATE: Redesignates a portion of United States Highway 190 as the
"Jesse Jackson Memorial Highway"
1 AN ACT
2 To redesignate United States Highway 190 between River Road and Interstate 110, in the
3 city of Baton Rouge, as the "Jesse Jackson Memorial Highway"; to provide for
4 implementation; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. The United States Highway 190 between River Road and Interstate 110,
7 in the city of Baton Rouge, parish of East Baton Rouge, shall be known and is hereby
8 redesignated as the "Jesse Jackson Memorial Highway".
9 Section 2. The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors are
10 hereby directed to erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this designation
11 provided local or private monies are received by the department equal to the department's
12 actual cost for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of the signage, not to
13 exceed the sum of two thousand two hundred fifty dollars per sign.

Directs the Dept. of Transportation and Development (DOTD) or its contractors to erect and
maintain appropriate signage reflecting this highway designation provided local or private
monies are received by the DOTD equal to its actual costs for material, fabrication,
mounting posts, and installation of the signage, not to exceed the sum of $2,250 per sign.
