BASS, CLOUD, EDMONDS, HENRY, HENSGENS, HODGES, KLEINPETER,
LAMBERT, LUNEAU, MIGUEZ, MIZELL, MORRIS, PRICE, REESE, STINE,
TALBOT, WHEAT, AND WOMACK
1 AN ACT
2 To designate a portion of United States Highway 425 from Morgan Street to Louisiana
3 Highway 913 in the parish of Franklin as the "Assistant Chief Bill 'Putt' Linder
4 Memorial Highway"; to designate a portion of Louisiana Highway 121 in the parish
5 of Rapides as the "Sheriff William Earl Hilton Memorial Highway"; to designate the
6 portion of Louisiana Highway 16 at Seventh Ward Elementary School Zone in the
7 parish of Livingston as the "Katy Wells Memorial Crossing Corridor"; to provide for
8 implementation; and to provide for related matters.
9 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
10 Section 1.(A) The portion of United States Highway 425 from Morgan Street to
11 Louisiana Highway 913 in the parish of Franklin, shall be known and is hereby designated
12 as the "Assistant Chief Bill 'Putt' Linder Memorial Highway".
13 (B) The portion of Louisiana Highway 16 at Seventh Ward Elementary School Zone
14 in the parish of Livingston, shall be known and is hereby designated as the "Katy Wells
15 Memorial Crossing Corridor".
16 (C) The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors are hereby
17 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this designation provided local
18 or private monies are received by the department equal to the department's actual cost for
19 material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of the signage, not to exceed the sum
20 of two thousand two hundred fifty dollars per sign.

1 Section 2.(A) The portion of Louisiana Highway 121 beginning at the intersection
2 of Louisiana Highway 112 in Hineston, Louisiana, extending to Louisiana Highway 28, in
3 Gardner, Louisiana, all situated in Rapides Parish shall be known and is hereby designated
4 as the "Sheriff William Earl Hilton Memorial Highway".
5 (B) The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors are hereby
6 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this designation provided local
7 or private monies are received by the department equal to the department's actual cost for
8 material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of the signage, not to exceed the sum
9 of seven hundred fifty dollars per sign.
10 Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
11 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
12 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
13 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
14 effective on the day following such approval.
