2 To amend and reenact R.S. 39:17.2(A), relative to digitized credentials; to provide for the
3 authority of the commissioner; to authorize the commissioner to coordinate with the
4 governing bodies of certain professions and occupations for digitized credentials; to
5 implement the availability of certain credentials in digitized format for use in an
6 electronic wallet; and to provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 39:17.2(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
9 §17.2. Digitized credentials; authorization; implementation; validity
10 A.(1) Any credential authorized or required by the state may be made
11 available in digitized format on a program which a user can utilize through an
12 electronic wallet.
13 (2) The commissioner of administration shall coordinate with the governing
14 bodies of the professions and occupations listed below to implement the availability
15 of digitized credentials:
16 (a) The Louisiana State Bar Association for the inclusion of bar membership
17 cards.
18 (b) The Louisiana High School Athletic Association for the inclusion of a
19 referee credential.
20 (c) Public and private universities and colleges in Louisiana for the inclusion
21 of faculty, staff, and student credentials.
