2 To amend and reenact R.S. 15:706(A)(2), relative to prisoners; to provide relative to the
3 transfer of prisoners; to provide relative to notification procedures; and to provide
4 for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 15:706(A)(2) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 §706. Transfer of prisoners to jail of another parish

10 (2) If the prisoner or prisoners to be transferred are not under sentence to the
11 Department of Public Safety and Corrections, the sheriff proposing to make the
12 transfer shall notify the prosecuting authority and the court which that set bail for the
13 prisoner or prisoners at least seventy-two hours before making the transfer.
