GAMING: Requests the Louisiana Gaming Control Board to exercise due diligence when
reviewing certain proposed acquisitions
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
2 To urge and request the Louisiana Gaming Control Board to review proposed acquisitions
3 and to consider economic development in northwest Louisiana.
4 WHEREAS, the gaming market is a major contributor to the economic success of the
5 Shreveport-Bossier area; and
6 WHEREAS, the gaming market is a driver of regional tourism and employment in
7 northwest Louisiana; and
8 WHEREAS, the responsible ownership and continued investment in the gaming
9 market is vital to the economic health of the region; and
10 WHEREAS, the Legislature of Louisiana supports potential sales and acquisitions
11 that will have a positive economic impact on the region.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana encourages the
13 Louisiana Gaming Control Board to ensure proper due diligence in proposed acquisitions
14 that encourage economic development, job creation, and a community benefit.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
16 Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
