BY REPRESENTATIVE JACKSON
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
To urge and request the Louisiana Gaming Control Board to review proposed acquisitions
and to consider economic development in northwest Louisiana.
WHEREAS, the gaming market is a major contributor to the economic success of the
Shreveport-Bossier area; and
WHEREAS, the gaming market is a driver of regional tourism and employment in
northwest Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the responsible ownership and continued investment in the gaming
market is vital to the economic health of the region; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature of Louisiana supports potential sales and acquisitions
that will have a positive economic impact on the region.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana encourages the
Louisiana Gaming Control Board to ensure proper due diligence in proposed acquisitions
that encourage economic development, job creation, and a community benefit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
