BY REPRESENTATIVES MCFARLAND, DEWITT, AND FIRMENT
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
To commend Angela Lasyone for her contributions in the Natchitoches Parish showcase on
the occasion of Natchitoches Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, Angela Lasyone is the chef and owner of Lasyone's Meat Pie
Restaurant, a beloved Louisiana institution that is known for its authentic Cajun and Creole
cuisine and legendary handmade meat pies; and
WHEREAS, Lasyone's Meat Pie Restaurant was founded in 1967 by Angela's
parents, JoAnn and James Lasyone, and has grown from a small family operation into a
nationally-recognized culinary landmark; despite the restaurant's success, it remains deeply
rooted in tradition, quality, and community; and
WHEREAS, Angela is passionate about preserving her family's culinary heritage
while introducing new generations to the flavors and culture of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, under Angela's leadership, Lasyone's Meat Pie Restaurant has continued
to specialize in its signature handmade meat pies and crawfish pies while offering a wide
variety of classic Cajun and Creole dishes prepared from time-honored family recipes; and
WHEREAS, Angela's hard work and dedication have earned widespread recognition,
and the stories of her career and the Lasyone's Meat Pie Restaurant have been featured
across numerous television programs, magazines, newspapers, and social media platforms;
and
WHEREAS, Angela was featured as a chef at the Washington, D.C., Mardi Gras Ball
and was inducted into Northwestern State University's Long Purple Line, and Lasyone's
Meat Pie Restaurant was voted "Pride of Louisiana" by the Food Network; and

WHEREAS, Angela Lasyone continues to honor the legacy of her parents by serving
exceptional food, celebrating Louisiana's culture, and welcoming guests like family; she is
truly most deserving of the highest recognition for her many contributions as a culinary
expert.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Angela Lasyone for her contributions to the Natchitoches Parish showcase on the
occasion of Natchitoches Day at the state capitol and does hereby extend sincere wishes that
she remain prosperous in all of her endeavors, especially those that celebrate Louisiana's
vibrant food culture.
