HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 56
BY REPRESENTATIVE LAFLEUR AND SENATORS BARROW, BOUDREAUX, AND

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
To commend the Louisiana Lottery Corporation on the occasion of its thirty-fifth
anniversary; to acknowledge the contributions of the Louisiana Lottery to public
education in the state of Louisiana; and to recognize Rose Hudson for twenty years
of distinguished service as president and chief executive officer.
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Lottery Corporation was established in 1991 pursuant to
Article XII, Section 6 of the Constitution of Louisiana and the Louisiana Lottery Corporation
Law, and has faithfully served the citizens of Louisiana for thirty-five years; and
WHEREAS, since its inception, the Louisiana Lottery has operated with the highest
standards of integrity, accountability, and transparency, and these principles are central to
its mission and foundational to the trust it holds with the people of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, over the course of thirty-five years of operation, the Louisiana Lottery
Corporation has contributed more than five billion dollars to the state treasury; these funds
are dedicated entirely to the Minimum Foundation Program, which is the mechanism for
financing elementary and secondary public education across the state of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Rose Hudson has served as president and chief executive officer of the
Louisiana Lottery Corporation for twenty years, providing visionary leadership, operational
excellence, and an unwavering commitment to the public interest throughout her tenure; and
WHEREAS, Rose Hudson's leadership has been defined by a steadfast adherence to
the core values of integrity, accountability, and transparency, setting the standard for
excellence in public administration and inspiring those who serve alongside her.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Louisiana Lottery Corporation on the occasion of its thirty-fifth anniversary
and does hereby acknowledge its contributions to public education in Louisiana through the
Minimum Foundation Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
recognize Rose Hudson for twenty years of distinguished service as president and chief
executive officer of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation; does hereby extend enduring
appreciation for her transformative leadership and dedication to public service; and does
hereby commend her commitment to the values of integrity, accountability, and transparency
that define the Louisiana Lottery.
