A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
To designate Wednesday, April 22, 2026, as Ascension Parish Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, Ascension Parish has a rich and enduring history rooted in resilience,
innovation, and community and has been shaped by generations of hardworking citizens,
visionary leaders, and dedicated businesses; and
WHEREAS, Ascension Parish's long-standing industries and family-owned
enterprises have laid a strong foundation for economic stability and growth, while new and
emerging businesses continue to invest in the parish, which drives innovation and expands
opportunity; and
WHEREAS, Ascension Parish serves as a vital economic engine for the local
community, the state of Louisiana, and the broader Gulf South region by contributing to job
creation, infrastructure development, and sustained economic advancement; and
WHEREAS, the strength of Ascension Parish lies in its collaborative spirit;
government, business, industry, nonprofits, educators, and first responders work hand in
hand to serve residents and build a thriving, forward-looking community; and
WHEREAS, Ascension Parish is committed to cultivating opportunity at every level,
from early childhood education to higher education and workforce development, to ensure
that future generations are strong and capable; and
WHEREAS, Ascension Parish's spirit of partnership and progress is embodied in its
forward vision and official motto, "Ascension Means Business", which reflects a
commitment to economic excellence and a promise to deliver results for its citizens and
partners; and

WHEREAS, Ascension Parish Day at the state capitol serves as a celebration of this
shared success and vision and brings together more than eighty businesses, nonprofits,
governmental and community partners, first responders, and educational institutions to
showcase the parish's impact and potential; and
WHEREAS, the event at the Capitol Park Museum highlights not only the
achievements of the past and present, but also the promise of a bold and collaborative future.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
designate Wednesday, April 22, 2026, as Ascension Parish Day at the state capitol; does
hereby honor the past accomplishments, present momentum, and future promise of
Ascension Parish; does hereby recognize its commitment to growth, partnership, and
building a better tomorrow; and does hereby encourage citizens, partners, and stakeholders
to celebrate the collective efforts that make Ascension Parish a model of collaboration,
progress, and opportunity.
