MORRIS, MYERS, REESE, SEABAUGH, AND WOMACK
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
To express the condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of Charles James
"Charlie" Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA.
WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk was born on October 14, 1993, in Arlington Heights,
Illinois, where he attended Wheeling High School; he later studied at Harper College, a
public community college in the northwest Chicago suburb of Palatine, before leaving to
pursue a career in political activism; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kirk co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012 with the help of his
early mentor, the late Bill Montgomery; he launched the conservative advocacy group as a
shoestring campus effort and built it into a well-funded national organization; he used the
success of Turning Point USA to found several affiliated groups, including Turning Point
Action and Turning Point Faith; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kirk's success as a conservative political activist increased his
professional profile, and he became a widely-known media figure; he hosted "The Charlie
Kirk Show" on talk radio, regularly appeared on conservative media outlets, and addressed
both the 2024 Republican National Convention and the 2022 Conservative Political Action
Conference; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kirk focused on campus activism, youth engagement, and faith-
based organizing; he was also the author of several books; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kirk married Erika Frantzve in 2021, and he is survived by his wife
and their two children; he will be deeply missed, but the legacy of his work will live on
through those who were privileged to have known him.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
express heartfelt condolences on the death of Charles James "Charlie" Kirk, co-founder of
Turning Point USA, and does hereby extend sincere wishes that his family, friends, and
loved ones find comfort in their shared memories of his life.
