BY REPRESENTATIVE ADAMS
A RESOLUTION
To express the condolences of the House of Representatives on the death of Betty Davis
King.
WHEREAS, it is with immense sadness and profound regret that the House of
Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana has learned of the passing, on March 19,
2026, of Betty Davis King; and
WHEREAS, Betty was born to loving parents and was a cherished wife, mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose devotion to family and community
earned her the admiration and respect of all who knew her; and
WHEREAS, Ms. King spent most of her life in her beloved community of Jackson,
Louisiana, where she was deeply involved in community service, engaged in many of the
ministries of McKowen Baptist Church and Visions Church, and devoted to the East
Feliciana School System; and
WHEREAS, Betty Davis King was exceptional, capable, conscientious, and
compassionate, and all of her actions were guided by three great loves: her relationship with
Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, whom she loved intentionally and unconditionally; her
deep devotion to her family; and her abiding love for her hometown of Minden, Louisiana;
and
WHEREAS, Betty Davis King leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Charles
Earl King; son, Adrian; daughters, Towanda Taylor, Keashu King, and Ashley Armstrong;
grandsons, Charleston Taylor and John Charles King; granddaughters, Peyton King,
Adrienne King, Ashlynn Taylor, and Jacelyn Armstrong; great-granddaughter, Chloe Taylor;
and a host of sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law; four generations of nieces
and nephews; and extended relatives and friends; her passing leaves a void in the lives of her

family and friends in the community she served so well; she will be deeply missed, but the
legacy of her loving spirit shall live on in the hearts and minds of those who were privileged
to have known and loved her.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Betty
Davis King and does hereby extend sincere wishes that her family, friends, and loved ones
find comfort in their shared memories of her beautiful life.
