BY REPRESENTATIVE DICKERSON
A RESOLUTION
To commend Live Oak High School wrestler Laken Griffin on winning the 132-pound
weight class 2026 state championship at the Louisiana High School Athletic
Association Wrestling State Tournament.
WHEREAS, Laken Griffin captured the 2026 state title in the 132-pound weight
class at the LHSAA Wrestling State Tournament held at the Brookshire Grocery Arena in
Bossier City, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Laken finished the tournament with five wins and zero losses and won
all of her matches by pin; she finished the season with an incredible record of forty-eight
wins and zero losses; and
WHEREAS, in addition to winning the state title, Ms. Griffin was victorious in her
weight class at the Louisiana Classic, which was held at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in
Gonzales, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Laken Griffin is most deserving of the highest recognition for her
dominance in competition this year.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Live Oak High School wrestler Laken
Griffin on winning the 132-pound weight class 2026 state championship at the Louisiana
High School Athletic Association Wrestling State Tournament and does hereby extend
sincere wishes that she continue her incredible work and always strive for excellence in
competition.
