BY REPRESENTATIVE DICKERSON
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Live Oak High School cheerleading team on winning its tenth consecutive
Universal Cheerleaders Association National High School Cheerleading
Championship.
WHEREAS, the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) was founded in 1974 to
provide the highest quality educational training for cheerleaders to incorporate high-level skills
with traditional crowd leading; and
WHEREAS, today, the UCA is the largest cheerleading camp company in the world,
training over one hundred eighty thousand cheerleaders each summer at over three thousand
two hundred sessions nationwide; and
WHEREAS, the Universal Cheerleaders Association celebrates cheerleaders at over
fifty regional events across the United States and the UCA Championships hosted at Walt
Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida; these events are televised on ESPN, ESPN2,
ESPNU, and CBS Sports; and
WHEREAS, the Live Oak High School cheerleading team is led by Coach Maddie
Guidry and has won ten consecutive UCA National High School Cheerleading Championships;
and
WHEREAS, the Live Oak cheerleaders and Coach Guidry are most deserving of the
highest recognition for their incredible dominance in UCA competitions over the past decade.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature
of Louisiana does hereby commend the Live Oak High School cheerleading team on its tenth
consecutive Universal Cheerleaders Association National High School Cheerleading
Championship, and does hereby encourage the members of the team to continue their excellent
work and always strive for greatness in competition.
