HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 40

A RESOLUTION
To commend Joe and Ann Blackwell of Pineville, Rapides Parish, Louisiana, on the
occasion of their seventieth wedding anniversary.
WHEREAS, it is with great pride and admiration that the Louisiana House of
Representatives recognizes Joe and Ann Blackwell of Pineville in Rapides Parish as they
celebrate the extraordinary milestone of seventy years of marriage on June 29, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Joe and Ann Blackwell began a lifelong partnership when they united
in marriage on June 29, 1956, and their union stands as a shining example of love, devotion,
and unwavering commitment to one another; and
WHEREAS, throughout the Blackwell's seven decades of marriage, they have built
a beautiful life firmly rooted in faith in God, deep love for one another, steadfast dedication
to family, and the enduring values that strengthen both their home and community; and
WHEREAS, their marriage has been richly blessed with a growing family; they are
the proud parents of three children, cherished grandparents to twelve grandchildren, and
beloved great-grandparents to thirty-three great-grandchildren; each generation of their
family carries forward the legacy of love and guidance they have faithfully provided; and
WHEREAS, the Blackwell's seventy years together represent a remarkable testament
to perseverance, partnership, and the enduring power of family; they are an inspiration to all
who know them and serve as a meaningful example for future generations; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting to recognize Joe and Ann Blackwell for their lifetime of
devotion to one another and for the immeasurable impact they have made on their family and
community in Pineville and throughout Rapides Parish.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Joe and Ann Blackwell of
Pineville, Rapides Parish, Louisiana, upon the joyous celebration of their seventieth wedding
anniversary on June 29, 2026, and does hereby extend heartfelt wishes for continued
happiness, health, and blessings in the years to come.
