A RESOLUTION
To commend women for the critical role they play in the chemistry industry and other
industries in Louisiana.
WHEREAS, Louisiana's industrial sector drives the state's economic growth and job
creation, and women are leading the way; and
WHEREAS, women are shaping industry and building upon Louisiana's rich energy
history to pave the way for a cleaner, greener, and more diverse future; and
WHEREAS, women of every race, class, and ethnic background have made
significant contributions to the growth and strength of the state of Louisiana and continue
to play critical economic, cultural, and social roles by contributing to the labor force; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana chemistry industry promotes the employment and
advancement of skilled women in the industry and benefits the state of Louisiana through
community development and educational programs; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana chemistry industry provides thousands of high-paying
jobs to women, including governmental relations professionals, engineers, operators, process
safety and human resources professionals, contractors, construction workers, and many
more; and
WHEREAS, the women in Louisiana industry are most deserving of the highest
recognition for paving the way for future generations of women to succeed and advance the
reputation of the state's industrial sector.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend women for the critical role they play in the
chemistry industry and other industries in Louisiana and does hereby extend enduring
appreciation for their contributions to the state's economic, social, and cultural development.
