HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 50
BY REPRESENTATIVE HEBERT
A RESOLUTION
To designate Tuesday, March 24, 2026, as Geaux Far Day at the capitol and to commend
Geaux Far Louisiana for its contributions to early childhood education.
WHEREAS, Geaux Far Louisiana was established in 2021 as a cross-sector coalition
to advocate for the needs of Louisiana's children from prenatal through age four, with
intentional centering of parents and early childhood providers; and
WHEREAS, Geaux Far believes in a unified early childhood system and has
identified five goals to ensure families have access to seamless and high-quality early
childhood development, health, and educational services; and
WHEREAS, Geaux Far Louisiana collaborates with Louisiana-based partner
organizations dedicated to carrying out specific objectives within each goal area that align
with the work they are already doing; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana families want their children to be healthy and happy and to
thrive; healthy families and young children serve as the backbone of thriving communities
and foundation of economic vitality for our state; and
WHEREAS, Geaux Far Louisiana aims to shape policies, advocate for change, and
improve outcomes for young learners statewide by engaging parents, educators,
policymakers, and community leaders; and
WHEREAS, Geaux Far Louisiana is most deserving of the highest recognition for
encouraging individuals to become "Champions for Children" by lending their voices, time,
and talents to advocate for legislative policies.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate Tuesday, March 24, 2026, as Geaux Far Day
at the capitol and does hereby commend Geaux Far Louisiana for its contributions to early
childhood education.
