A RESOLUTION
To commend Bishop J. Gregory Jones on the occasion of his fiftieth year in ministry.
WHEREAS, it is most fitting to recognize Bishop J. Gregory Jones for his many
achievements and to commend him on the occasion of his fiftieth year in ministry; and
WHEREAS, Bishop J. Gregory Jones is the son of Reverend Magellan Jones, Jr., and
Audrey Moss-Stanley, and he was raised by his maternal grandparents, the late Pastor Joseph
and Carrie Moss; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Jones began preaching at the age of nine; at the age of eighteen,
he became an ordained minister under the auspices of the late Bishop M.C. Jenkins and the
All-Nations Pentecostal Churches of God in Christ, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, at nineteen years old, Bishop Jones was appointed senior pastor of the
Greater Grace Temple in Marlin, Texas, where he served for eighteen years; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Jones was ordained as a bishop at the age of twenty-two; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Jones founded Eden Worship Center in 2010 and held its first
service on July 4; in addition to his ministry, he is an accomplished musician, singer,
composer, and author; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Jones is married to La'Kica Shae Jones, and they have five
children; and
WHEREAS, Bishop J. Gregory Jones is a passionate and powerful minister, and he
is most deserving of the highest recognition for his inspiring career in ministry.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Bishop J. Gregory Jones on the occasion of
his fiftieth year in ministry and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for his dedicated
service to the members of Eden Worship Center.
