HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 70
BY REPRESENTATIVE CHASSION
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Northside High School boys basketball team on their run to the Louisiana
High School Athletic Association 2026 Division II Select state championship game.
WHEREAS, it is most fitting to recognize the members of the Northside High School
Vikings boys basketball team for their incredible efforts and to commend their run to the
2026 Division II Select state championship game; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Troy Jones led the twelve-seed Vikings on an incredible
run to the 2026 Division II Select title game and an overall record of twenty-four wins and
fourteen losses; and
WHEREAS, the Vikings upset five-seed Lake Charles College Prep, 66-65, in the
regional round; in the semi-finals, the team ousted top-ranked Madison Prep by a score of
65-61; and
WHEREAS, in the semi-final game, Northside's Jaydon Francis scored a game-high
twenty-four points, including twenty-two points in the second half, and Treylon Angelle
added twenty-three points; and
WHEREAS, in the championship game, Jaydon Francis scored a game-high twenty-
five points, grabbed four rebounds, made three assists, and blocked one shot; Jayden Jones
added eleven points; and
WHEREAS, the Northside High boys basketball team displayed an incredible degree
of determination and resilience this season, and the players and coaches are most deserving
of the highest recognition for their efforts.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Northside High School boys basketball
team on their run to the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2026 Division II Select
state championship game and does hereby encourage the players and coaches to continue
their excellent work and always strive for greatness.
