A RESOLUTION
To express the condolences of the House of Representatives on the death of Allyce Trapp
Alexander.
WHEREAS, it is with immense sadness and profound regret that the House of
Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana has learned of the passing, on September 27,
2025, of Allyce Trapp Alexander; and
WHEREAS, Allyce was born on January 6, 1994, in Houma, Louisiana, to Heinke
and Susan Trapp and was raised in a loving and supportive family; she graduated from
Vandebilt Catholic High School, where she participated in student council, tennis, and
volleyball and was voted best dressed for her ability to accessorize a uniform better than
anyone; as a teenager, she had the honor of being a maid of Mardi Gras in the Krewe of
Houmas; and
WHEREAS, Allyce moved to Baton Rouge in 2012 to attend Louisiana State
University and lived in the city for the remainder of her life; while at LSU, she joined Chi
Omega sorority and oversaw the election process for student government for one year; she
was a proud two-time graduate of the Manship School of Mass Communication and
particularly enjoyed spending a summer studying abroad in Germany; and
WHEREAS, Allyce found her calling while giving a speech at the Louisiana State
Capitol to raise awareness for dyslexia; she had learned to manage the learning disability
herself, becoming a student of history and an avid reader who often read two books at once;

WHEREAS, Allyce established herself as a governmental affairs professional and
worked as a governmental affairs coordinator at Adams & Reese; in this role, she endeared
herself to everyone in the legislature with her smile and kindness, and as a Louisiana native,
she was always excited to go to work at the capitol; and
WHEREAS, outside of work, Allyce cherished spending time with her family,
friends, and colleagues; she loved fishing in the Gulf, wandering through museums, playing
with cats, and attending estate sales; she also enjoyed learning about British history,
especially the War of the Roses and the royal family, and savored a crisp glass of champagne
and a small raw oyster; and
WHEREAS, Allyce filled her beloved husband's days with joy; she was a natural
conversationalist who could talk to anyone about anything; she was a loyal and sweet friend
with trademark blonde bangs and an infectious energy that drew people to her; she sealed
the envelopes of her handwritten letters with a wax stamp, and she always gave her friends
and their children gifts on their birthdays; and
WHEREAS, Allyce Trapp Alexander is survived by her husband, Wilson Alexander;
parents, Heinke and Susan Trapp; brother, John Trapp; maternal grandmother, Ann Lirette;
and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; she was a smart, beautiful, elegant, and bright
young woman, and while she will be deeply missed, the legacy of her loving spirit shall live
on in the hearts and minds of those who were privileged to have known and loved her.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Allyce
Trapp Alexander and does hereby extend sincere wishes that her family, friends, colleagues,
and loved ones find comfort in their shared memories of her beautiful life.
