A RESOLUTION
To designate Wednesday, April 1, 2026, as Physical Therapy Day at the state capitol and to
commend the physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students across
Louisiana for their dedication to improving the health and well-being of the citizens
of this state.
WHEREAS, physical therapists and physical therapist assistants are highly educated,
licensed healthcare professionals who play a vital role in the prevention, diagnosis, and
treatment of movement dysfunction and pain; and
WHEREAS, physical therapy services enhance the overall quality of life for
individuals of all ages and help them recover from injury, manage chronic conditions,
improve mobility, and maintain independence; and
WHEREAS, physical therapists are integral members of the healthcare team and
work collaboratively with physicians and other providers to deliver patient-centered care that
reduces the need for more invasive and costly treatments; and
WHEREAS, physical therapy contributes significantly to reducing healthcare costs
by preventing injuries and minimizes the need for surgery, decreases reliance on prescription
medications, and facilitates faster recovery times; and
WHEREAS, the physical therapy profession is committed to evidence-based
practice, continuing education, and innovation to ensure the highest standard of care for
patients across Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Physical Therapy Day at the state capitol provides an opportunity to
raise awareness among legislators and the public about the important role of physical therapy
in promoting health, wellness, and recovery; and

WHEREAS, this day also recognizes the dedication and service of physical
therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students who work tirelessly to improve the lives
of others throughout the state.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate Wednesday, April 1, 2026, as Physical
Therapy Day at the state capitol and does hereby commend the physical therapy
professionals and students of Louisiana for their outstanding contributions to the health and
well-being of the people of this state.
