HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 93

A RESOLUTION
To commend Myrtle V. Willis on the occasion of her one hundredth birthday.
WHEREAS, it is most fitting to recognize Myrtle V. Willis for her inspiring
longevity and to commend her on the occasion of her one hundredth birthday; and
WHEREAS, Myrtle V. Willis was born on April 14, 1926, in Assumption Parish,
Louisiana, where she is one of the oldest residents and a living testament to strength,
resilience, and God's enduring grace; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Willis is a constant source of love, wisdom, and guidance for her
family; she is the only living child of Winnie and Charles Hall, Sr., and carries a unique and
treasured legacy which honors the generations before her and continues to inspire those who
follow her; and
WHEREAS, throughout her life, Ms. Willis embraced her role as a devoted wife and
mother with grace and dignity; she and her late husband built a family rooted in faith and
love, and she cherishes the memories of those who passed before her, including her husband
and children: James Jr., Annette, James III, and Vivian; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Willis is deeply loved by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
and great-great-grandchildren, and they are blessed by her kindness, gentle spirit, and
unwavering presence as they continue to honor her legacy of love; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Willis is a devoted Christian who has trusted in God through every
stage of her life and found strength, comfort, and peace in her faith; her life is a testimony
to her immense faith, and she serves as a shining example of love, perseverance, and
devotion to all who know her; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Willis once found great joy baking homemade cakes and pies,
which filled her home with warmth and sweetness; these cherished moments have created
lasting memories for her family; and
WHEREAS, Myrtle V. Willis is most deserving of the highest recognition for her
incredible life, especially as she reaches this inspiring milestone.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Myrtle V. Willis on the occasion of her one
hundredth birthday and does hereby extend sincere wishes that she remain prosperous as she
begins a new chapter in life as a member of the exclusive club of Louisiana centenarians.
