BY SENATOR KLEINPETER AND REPRESENTATIVE LACOMBE
1 AN ACT
2 To provide relative to state highways; to designate a portion of Louisiana Highway 977 in
3 Pointe Coupee Parish as "The Falcons Band Highway"; to provide for location and
4 placement of signage; to provide for restrictions on costs of materials to the
5 department; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, Louisiana
8 Highway 977, also known as Valverda Road, beginning on the Pointe Coupee side of
9 the parish line between Pointe Coupee and Iberville parishes, extending through Pointe
10 Coupee Parish and ending at the intersection of Maringouin Road West, is hereby
11 designated as "The Falcons Band Highway".
12 Section 2. The Department of Transportation and Development is hereby
13 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs of this designation provided local or
14 private monies are received by the department equal to the department's actual costs
15 for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of each sign, not to exceed
16 the sum of seven hundred fifty dollars per sign.
