1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 11:1732(14)(a)(xiv), relative to participation in the Municipal Employees'
3 Retirement System of Louisiana; to provide for an additional employer in the
4 system; to provide for membership of the office of the constable of the New Orleans
5 Second City Court; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for related
6 matters.
7 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.
8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. R.S. 11:1732(14)(a)(xiv) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
10 §1732. Definitions
11 The following words and phrases, as used in this Chapter, unless a different
12 meaning is plainly required by the context, shall have the following meanings:

14 (14)(a) "Employer" or "participating employer" shall mean:

16 (xiv) Marshals or constables of city courts, if not otherwise eligible for
17 membership in any other local, state, or statewide retirement system.

19 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature of the governor or, if not
20 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without
