1 AN ACT
2 To provide relative to state highways; to designate the Bayou Dularge Bascule Bridge in
3 Terrebonne Parish as the "Elward T. Brady, Jr. Memorial Bridge"; to provide for
4 location and placement of signage; to provide for restrictions on costs of materials
5 to the department; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the
8 bascule bridge that connects to Louisiana Highway 315 in Terrebonne Parish, that is
9 elevated over the body of water known as Intracoastal Waterway, is hereby designated
10 as the "Elward T. Brady, Jr. Memorial Bridge".
11 Section 2.(A) The Department of Transportation and Development is hereby
12 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs of this designation provided local or
13 private monies are received by the department equal to the department's actual costs
14 for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of each sign, not to exceed
15 the sum of seven hundred fifty dollars per sign.
16 (B) To the extent that sufficient additional local or private monies are received,
17 signage provided for by this Act shall also be placed on either side of the bascule bridge
18 for visibility to crossing watercraft.
