Development District. (8/1/26)
1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 33:2740.38(C)(2), (3), and (4) and to enact R.S.
3 33:2740.38(C)(5), relative to the Shreveport Downtown Development District; to
4 provide relative to the board of commissioners; to provide relative to residency
5 requirements; to provide for prospective application; and to provide for related
6 matters.
7 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.
8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. R.S. 33:2740.38(C)(2), (3), and (4) are hereby amended and reenacted and
10 R.S. 33:2740.38(C)(5) is hereby enacted to read as follows:

15 (2) One member of the authority shall have a background in urban

2 (3) All members of the authority, other than elected officials and the
3 member appointed pursuant to Subsection (C)(2) of this Paragraph, shall reside
4 in the district or have their his personal principal place of business or office in the
5 district or own property in the district.
6 (3)(4) The terms of the members shall be three years and they each member
7 may be reappointed.
8 (4)(5) A vacancy occurring for any cause shall be filled by using the above
9 order and procedure until the board membership is composed as described above.
10 Thereafter, vacancies will be filled by this procedure, with nominations originating
11 from the same group that appointed the outgoing member.

13 Section 2. The provisions of this Act shall have prospective application only.

reside in the district or have his personal principal place of business or office in the district

occur, for any cause, after the effective date of proposed law.
