1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact the introductory paragraph of R.S. 11:2174(B)(1)(b), relative to the
3 Sheriffs' Pension and Relief Fund; to provide for membership; to provide for criers
4 of the supreme court; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for related
5 matters.
6 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. The introductory paragraph of R.S. 11:2174(B)(1)(b) is hereby amended
9 and reenacted to read as follows:
10 §2174. Remittance of percentage of taxes collected to fund; membership; salary
11 deductions; deficiency in fund; credit

15 (b) Each deputy, including the criminal and civil deputies of the parish of
16 Orleans, and the criers of the several divisions of the Civil District Court for the
17 parish of Orleans or supreme court who, on the date of the filing of the application

1 to become a member, is age eighteen or over shall become a member of this fund,
2 that provided his monthly salary including state supplemental pay is not less than the

5 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on June 30, 2026; if vetoed by the
6 governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on
7 the day following such approval by the legislature or June 30, 2026, whichever is later.
