SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 12
BY SENATOR BASS AND REPRESENTATIVE HORTON
COMMENDATIONS. Commends John Keith, of AllState Land and Timber, upon being
named the "Louisiana Outstanding Logger of the Year".
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
2 To commend John Keith, of AllState Land and Timber, upon being named the "Louisiana
3 Outstanding Logger of the Year" and to recognize his commitment to practicing safe
4 and efficient logging practices in Louisiana.
5 WHEREAS, loggers are a vital part of the forest community, moving timber from
6 forest land to mills so it can be processed into useful products; and
7 WHEREAS, logging operations are often small businesses that regularly involve
8 family members in their daily operations, making them truly family enterprises; and
9 WHEREAS, without loggers there would be no forest industry, and the forests of
10 Louisiana would go unmanaged and become unproductive; and
11 WHEREAS, loggers contribute significantly to local economies by purchasing parts,
12 fuel, and lubricants and by supporting charitable causes and community needs; and
13 WHEREAS, loggers must contend daily with weather conditions, market
14 fluctuations, equipment breakdowns, and labor challenges, often resulting in long nights and
15 early mornings and requiring strong support from their families and faith; and
16 WHEREAS, John Keith was selected by his peers as Louisiana Outstanding Logger
17 of the Year to represent the best of the logging industry, having served as president of the
18 Louisiana Logging Council and providing a vital service to the forest industry by delivering

1 timber to processing facilities; and
2 WHEREAS, his professionalism and adherence to Louisiana's Forestry Best
3 Management Practices are well known among landowners, enhancing his reputation for
4 quality work and placing him in high demand among timberland owners.
5 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
6 commend and congratulate John Keith of AllState Land and Timber in Haughton, Louisiana,
7 upon being named the "Louisiana Outstanding Logger of the Year" and does hereby
8 recognize his dedication to the logging industry and his tireless efforts to promote safe and
9 efficient logging practices that benefit the environment and the economy of the state of
10 Louisiana.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to John
12 Keith.
