A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
To commend the Geaux Far Louisiana Coalition and its collaborative of fatherhood-focused
partners and to designate Tuesday, April 7, 2026, as Dad's Day at the Louisiana State
Capitol.
WHEREAS, families are the foundation of our communities, and the contributions
of fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures are invaluable to the growth and
well-being of our society; and
WHEREAS, the role of a father encompasses teaching, guiding, nurturing, and
inspiring children to become responsible citizens who contribute positively to society; and
WHEREAS, the commitment and sacrifices made by fathers and father figures
deserve recognition and celebration; and
WHEREAS, Dad's Day provides an opportunity for communities across the state of
Louisiana to acknowledge and express gratitude for the love, support, and positive influence
that fathers provide in their families and neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, the spirit of Dad's Day aligns with our state's values of family,
community, and civic responsibility, and fosters a culture of mutual respect and appreciation
among all citizens; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to honor the enduring legacy of fathers and father
figures by establishing a day dedicated to their recognition, encouragement, and celebration.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Geaux Far Louisiana Coalition and does hereby designate Tuesday, April 7,
2026, as Dad's Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Geaux Far Louisiana Coalition.
