A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the passing of
Allyce Trapp Alexander, and to celebrate her remarkable life, her service to the
people of Louisiana, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
WHEREAS, Allyce Trapp Alexander, age thirty-one, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana,
passed away peacefully on the morning of September 27, 2025, surrounded by the family
she cherished above all else; and
WHEREAS, Allyce was born on January 6, 1994, in Houma, Louisiana, to Heinke
and Susan Trapp, and grew up in a supportive, close-knit family that nurtured her
confidence, curiosity, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, a proud graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School, Allyce was active
in student council, tennis, and volleyball, and was voted "Best Dressed" by her classmates
for her signature flair and impeccable style; and
WHEREAS, as a teenager, she was honored to serve as a Maid of Mardi Gras in the
Krewe of Houmas, reflecting her deep love for Louisiana's culture and traditions; and
WHEREAS, in 2012, Allyce moved to Baton Rouge to attend Louisiana State
University, where she joined Chi Omega sorority, oversaw a student government election
cycle, and earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the Manship School of Mass
Communication; and
WHEREAS, Allyce especially treasured her summer abroad in Germany and
developed a lifelong passion for history, delighting in learning about British history,

particularly the War of the Roses; and
WHEREAS, Allyce discovered her calling at the Louisiana State Capitol when she
delivered a speech raising awareness about dyslexia, a learning disability she tirelessly
managed, and in doing so became an avid reader who often could be found reading through
two books at once; and
WHEREAS, Allyce went on to serve the people of Louisiana as a government
relations advisor at Adams & Reese, a position she considered her dream job and one she
approached with enthusiasm, professionalism, and heartfelt dedication; and
WHEREAS, her warmth, sincerity, and radiant smile endeared her to legislators,
staff, and colleagues throughout the capitol, where she was known for her kindness, work
ethic, and genuine love for public service; and
WHEREAS, she carried herself with an unwavering positivity and an upbeat spirit
that uplifted those around her, which served as a reminder that joy and kindness have a
powerful place even in the most demanding environments; and
WHEREAS, known for being both witty and effortlessly chic, Allyce brought a
distinctive grace and spark to every room she entered, combining sharp insight with a
lighthearted charm that made her presence unforgettable; and
WHEREAS, although the Louisiana State Capitol is often regarded as a serious place
of weighty decisions and long hours, Allyce had the remarkable ability to bring smiles to our
faces, brightening difficult days with her laughter, encouragement, and unmistakable light;
and
WHEREAS, outside of work, Allyce found joy in fishing in the gulf, exploring
museums, attending estate sales, playing with cats, savoring champagne and oysters, and
sharing sushi dinners with friends and family; and
WHEREAS, Allyce was a gifted conversationalist who made others feel seen and
valued, often sending handwritten letters sealed with wax and remembering every birthday
of those she loved with thoughtful gifts; and
WHEREAS, in June 2024, Allyce was diagnosed with angiosarcoma, a rare and
aggressive cancer, and she faced the disease with extraordinary courage, faith, and
determination for sixteen months, inspiring all who walked beside her; and

WHEREAS, Allyce is survived by her beloved husband, Wilson Alexander; her
parents, Heinke and Susan Trapp; her brother, John Trapp; her maternal grandmother, Ann
Lirette; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and
WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nolan Lirette Sr.,
Heinke Trapp Sr., and Audrey Trapp, and she looked forward with faith to being reunited
with them, as well as her cherished pets, Quasimodo and Sophie; and
WHEREAS, though her time on earth was far too short, Allyce herself said, "I've
lived a lot of life in 31 years. I have no complaints", a testament to her gratitude, resilience,
and joyful spirit; and
WHEREAS, Allyce's life was a blessing to her family, her friends, her colleagues,
and to the state she loved, and her memory will continue to inspire compassion, service, and
grace in all who knew her.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
extend its most sincere and deepest condolences to the family and friends of Allyce Trapp
Alexander and does hereby honor her life, her service, and her enduring legacy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be transmitted to her
husband and parents.
