A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate the Westlake High School Rams baseball team upon winning
the 2026 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Non-Select Division III
Baseball Championship and to recognize the team for its outstanding perseverance,
sportsmanship, and historic achievement.
WHEREAS, the Westlake High School Rams baseball program has established itself
as one of the premier athletic programs in southwest Louisiana through years of dedication,
discipline, and teamwork; and
WHEREAS, the Rams have enjoyed one of the most successful stretches in program
history over the past several seasons, advancing to the quarter finals in 2024, the semifinals
in 2025, and now capturing the program's first state championship in thirty years; and
WHEREAS, the second-seeded Rams completed an impressive post season run by
defeating nationally respected opponents and earning a dramatic semifinal series victory
over Doyle High School before advancing to the championship series; and
WHEREAS, the Rams demonstrated extraordinary determination and resilience in
overcoming defending powerhouse Sterlington in a best-of-three championship series and
secured the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Non-Select Division III Baseball
Championship with a decisive 7-2 victory in game three; and
WHEREAS, junior pitcher, Mason Conrad delivered a remarkable championship
performance, throwing a complete game while allowing only three hits against one of the
state's most prolific offenses and earning Most Outstanding Player honors for the
championship series; and

WHEREAS, the leadership of Head Coach Blake Reed, Assistant Coaches Ethan
Logan, Keith Lemelle, Caleb Abshire, and Rieland Devillier, together with the contributions
of student manager, Ethan Soileau; and student-athlete seniors, Brody Boudreaux, Kyce
Benoit, Cooper Cryer, Hadley Hardesty, Peyton Kile, Graydon Ross, Sawyer Vidrine, and
Cooper Williams; juniors, Brody Anderson, Brayden Boyer, Mason Conrad, Dax Duhon,
and Jett Quebodeaux; sophomores, Kole Duhon, Greyson Johnson, and Landen Soileau; and
freshmen, Hunter Babineaux, Joseph Benavides, Denver Bird, Evan Boudreaux, Cooper
Bordelon, Tyler Buller, Landon Dixon, Carson Harrington, Isaac Jordan, Julian Lester,
Kayden Marshall, Jayden Mitchell, Rylee Nelson, and Tyler Ross exemplified the values of
teamwork, sacrifice, discipline, and excellence that define Louisiana high school athletics;
and
WHEREAS, the Rams' relentless effort, strategic play, and unselfish commitment
to one another inspired their school, alumni, and the entire Westlake community; and
WHEREAS, the 2026 Westlake Rams baseball team has brought immense pride and
recognition to the city of Westlake, Calcasieu Parish, and the state of Louisiana through a
championship season that will long be remembered in the proud history of Louisiana high
school sports.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate the Westlake High School Rams baseball team upon winning the
2026 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Non-Select Division III Baseball
Championship and does hereby recognize the players, coaches, school officials, families, and
supporters whose dedication and spirit made this extraordinary achievement possible.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Head
Baseball Coach Blake Reed.
