SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 81
BY SENATOR STINE AND REPRESENTATIVE GEYMANN
COMMENDATIONS. Commends and congratulates the Westlake High School Rams
baseball team upon winning the 2026 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Non-
Select Division III Baseball Championship.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
2 To commend and congratulate the Westlake High School Rams baseball team upon winning
3 the 2026 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Non-Select Division III
4 Baseball Championship and to recognize the team for its outstanding perseverance,
5 sportsmanship, and historic achievement.
6 WHEREAS, the Westlake High School Rams baseball program has established itself
7 as one of the premier athletic programs in southwest Louisiana through years of dedication,
8 discipline, and teamwork; and
9 WHEREAS, the Rams have enjoyed one of the most successful stretches in program
10 history over the past several seasons, advancing to the quarter finals in 2024, the semifinals
11 in 2025, and now capturing the program's first state championship in thirty years; and
12 WHEREAS, the second-seeded Rams completed an impressive post season run by
13 defeating nationally respected opponents and earning a dramatic semifinal series victory
14 over Doyle High School before advancing to the championship series; and
15 WHEREAS, the Rams demonstrated extraordinary determination and resilience in
16 overcoming defending powerhouse Sterlington in a best-of-three championship series and
17 secured the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Non-Select Division III Baseball
18 Championship with a decisive 7-2 victory in game three; and

1 WHEREAS, junior pitcher Mason Conrad delivered a remarkable championship
2 performance, throwing a complete game while allowing only three hits against one of the
3 state's most prolific offenses and earning Most Outstanding Player honors for the
4 championship series; and
5 WHEREAS, the leadership of Head Coach Blake Reed, Assistant Coaches Ethan
6 Logan, Keith Lemelle, Caleb Abshire, and Rieland Devillier, together with the contributions
7 of student manager, Ethan Soileau and student-athlete seniors, Brody Boudreaux, Kyce
8 Benoit, Cooper Cryer, Hadley Hardesty, Peyton Kile, Graydon Ross, Sawyer Vidrine, and
9 Cooper Williams; juniors, Brody Anderson, Brayden Boyer, Mason Conrad, Dax Duhon,
10 and Jett Quebodeaux; sophomores, Kole Duhon, Greyson Johnson, and Landen Soileau; and
11 freshmen, Hunter Babineaux, Joseph Benavides, Denver Bird, Evan Boudreaux, Cooper
12 Bordelon, Tyler Buller, Landon Dixon, Carson Harrington, Isaac Jordan, Julian Lester,
13 Kayden Marshall, Jayden Mitchell, Rylee Nelson, and Tyler Ross exemplified the values of
14 teamwork, sacrifice, discipline, and excellence that define Louisiana high school athletics;
15 and
16 WHEREAS, the Rams' relentless effort, strategic play, and unselfish commitment
17 to one another inspired their school, alumni, and the entire Westlake community; and
18 WHEREAS, the 2026 Westlake Rams baseball team has brought immense pride and
19 recognition to the city of Westlake, Calcasieu Parish, and the state of Louisiana through a
20 championship season that will long be remembered in the proud history of Louisiana high
21 school sports.
22 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
23 commend and congratulate the Westlake High School Rams baseball team upon winning the
24 2026 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Non-Select Division III Baseball
25 Championship and does hereby recognize the players, coaches, school officials, families, and
26 supporters whose dedication and spirit made this extraordinary achievement possible.
27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Head
28 Baseball Coach Blake Reed.
