A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of David Arnold Trusty and to honor his life and legacy.
WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that the Senate of the Legislature of
Louisiana has learned of the passing of David Arnold Trusty on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at
the age of seventy-one; and
WHEREAS, David was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a highly respected
real estate broker whose vision and leadership were instrumental in the development of
numerous projects throughout the Baton Rouge area; and
WHEREAS, he enjoyed a distinguished career spanning more than two decades in
sales and broadcasting management, with his journey beginning in Hawaii and continuing
throughout the southern United States; ultimately bringing him to Baton Rouge; and
WHEREAS, he spent many years with Clear Channel Broadcasting, iHeartRadio,
mentoring countless sales professionals and forming lifelong friendships; and
WHEREAS, real estate became his passion after joining Gully, Phelps &
McKey/Coldwell Banker in 2005, and in 2019 he founded Trusty Investment Properties,
LLC-Trusty Commercial with his son, John, later joined by his daughter, Lauren, in 2020
to lead the residential division; and
WHEREAS, David was admired not only for his professional accomplishments but
also for his warmth, integrity, infectious smile, generous spirit, affection for pocket squares,
and zest for life; and
WHEREAS, he was known for his love of cooking, fine wine, and time spent with
family and friends; always accompanied by his Golden Retriever, Charlie; and
WHEREAS, David leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and devotion to his
family and friends; he is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-eight years, Renee; his
children, Lauren and John; cherished grandchildren, Calum, Ford, Kingston, and Grace; his
mother, Pauleen; his siblings, and a wide circle of extended family, friends, and community
members; and

WHEREAS, David Arnold Trusty's life exemplified hard work, excellence, kindness,
and an abiding love for life, coupled with unwavering dedication to his family and
community, and his legacy will endure in the hearts of all who were touched by his presence.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby extend its sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of David
Arnold Trusty.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of David Arnold Trusty.
