A RESOLUTION
To commend and recognize the women who play a critical role in Louisiana's many
industries, particularly the chemical industry.
WHEREAS, industry powers Louisiana through economic growth and job creation
and women are leading the way; and
WHEREAS, women are shaping industry and building upon Louisiana's rich energy
history to pave the way for a modern future that is cleaner, greener, and more diverse; and
WHEREAS, women of every race, class, and ethnic background have made
countless, significant contributions to the growth and strength of the state of Louisiana, and
continue to play critical economic, cultural, and social roles in every facet of life by
contributing to the labor force; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana chemical industry promotes the employment and
advancement of skilled women in the industry and benefits the state of Louisiana through
community development and educational programs; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana chemical industry provides thousands of high-paying jobs
to women in the industry, including governmental relations professionals, engineers,
operators, process safety and human resources professionals, contractors, construction
workers, and many more.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and recognize the essential role that women in industry, particularly
the chemical industry, play in Louisiana's economic, social, and cultural development.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Louisiana Chemical Association.
