A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Brooklyn Antoinette Kersey on being selected as the 2025-
2026 "Student of the Year" at Doyle High School in Livingston Parish.
WHEREAS, Brooklyn Antoinette Kersey has been named the 2025-2026 "Student
of the Year" at Doyle High School, an honor reflecting her outstanding dedication to
scholarship, leadership, and character; and
WHEREAS, Brooklyn Antoinette Kersey has achieved notable academic success,
maintaining an impressive 4.2 grade point average and earning an ACT score of 28, and
demonstrating discipline and commitment to excellence in the classroom; and
WHEREAS, Brooklyn is the daughter of Brian and Brittany Kersey, who have
supported and encouraged her academic, athletic, and personal accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Brooklyn has distinguished herself as a student-athlete, having played
competitive softball for ten years, including five years as a member of the Doyle Lady Tigers
softball team, and she has also competed as a powerlifter for Doyle High School's
powerlifting team for three years; and
WHEREAS, Brooklyn has demonstrated exemplary leadership through active
involvement in numerous student organizations, serving as 4-H president, Beta Club
vice-president, financial manager for the SADD Club, and as a dedicated member of the
school's Future Farmers of America (FFA) Club; and
WHEREAS, Brooklyn was further honored by her peers when she was crowned
Doyle High School's 2025-2026 Homecoming Queen, recognizing her leadership, integrity,
and positive influence within the school community; and
WHEREAS, Brooklyn is committed to service and personal growth, enjoying
opportunities to give back to her community, pursuing outdoor activities, exploring new
interests, and preparing for her future endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Brooklyn plans to attend Louisiana State University to earn a bachelor's
degree in human movement sciences, and thereafter transfer to Louisiana State University-
New Orleans to pursue a degree in occupational therapy, reflecting her desire to serve others
through a meaningful healthcare profession.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Brooklyn Antoinette Kersey on being selected as
the 2025-2026 "Student of the Year" at Doyle High School in Livingston Parish.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Brooklyn Antoinette Kersey.
