SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 44

A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate former Louisiana State Senator Michael A. Walsworth on the
occasion of his seventieth birthday.
WHEREAS, the Honorable Michael A. Walsworth rendered twenty-four years of
exemplary public service in the Legislature of Louisiana, faithfully representing the citizens
of Ouachita, Claiborne, Lincoln, Morehouse, Union, and West Carroll parishes and
contributing meaningfully to the advancement of the state; and
WHEREAS, he served with distinction in both chambers of the legislature,
representing District No. 15 in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1996 until 2008
and District No. 33 in the Louisiana State Senate from 2008 until 2020, demonstrating
unwavering commitment, integrity, and diligence throughout his tenure; and
WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of northeast Louisiana, former Senator Walsworth
is a graduate of West Monroe High School and Northeast Louisiana University, where he
formed his roots and a steadfast advocacy for the people of the region; and
WHEREAS, a man of faith, he is known for his warm demeanor, even temperament,
and collegial spirit, bringing camaraderie and goodwill to the legislature; and
WHEREAS, on March 27, 2026, Michael A. Walsworth will celebrate his seventieth
birthday with his beloved family and continues to look toward the future.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate the Honorable Michael A. Walsworth on the
occasion of his seventieth birthday and does hereby extend best wishes for his continued
health, happiness, and success in all future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Honorable Michael A. Walsworth.
