SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 6

A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Collin Phillip Sprouse on being selected the 2025-2026
"Student of the Year" at Walker High School in Livingston Parish.
WHEREAS, Collin Phillip Sprouse has been selected 2025-2026 "Student of the
Year" at Walker High School, honoring his outstanding academic achievement, leadership,
and service to his school and community; and
WHEREAS, Collin Phillip Sprouse has distinguished himself academically as a
National Merit Semifinalist, earning an exceptional ACT composite score of 35, and has
demonstrated sustained excellence through rigorous advanced placement and dual
enrollment course work, resulting in recognition as an AP Scholar with Distinction, National
Merit Finalist, and consistent high achievement across all core academic subjects; and
WHEREAS, Collin has demonstrated exemplary leadership among his peers, serving
as captain of the Walker High School boys soccer team, team leader of the Walker Soccer
Fellowship of Christian Athletes, school representative to the Livingston Parish School
Board and as a member of the student government association, earning the respect of
students, faculty, and administrators alike; and
WHEREAS, known for his integrity, inclusiveness, and initiative, Collin took it upon
himself to learn Spanish to better communicate with and support his teammates, thereby
strengthening unity, collaboration, and mutual respect within his school community; and
WHEREAS, beyond the classroom, Collin has excelled as a Louisiana Soccer
Association referee and was named a Louisiana Young Soccer Referee of the Year Finalist,
while mentoring younger officials and consistently upholding the highest standards of
fairness, professionalism, and sportsmanship; and
WHEREAS, Collin's commitment to service is evidenced by more than a decade of
volunteer work with Mighty Moms; participation in disaster relief and flood recovery
efforts; and the co-founding of KidCreations, a service initiative dedicated to bringing
encouragement and joy to children receiving hospital care; and

WHEREAS, guided by faith, family, compassion, and a desire to serve others, Collin
Phillip Sprouse aspires to pursue a career in healthcare as a Certified Registered Nurse
Anesthetist, uniting academic rigor with service to improve the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, through his character, leadership, academic excellence, and devotion
to service, Collin Phillip Sprouse stands as a role model for students throughout Livingston
Parish and the state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Collin Phillip Sprouse upon being selected the 2025-
2026 "Student of the Year" at Walker High School.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Collin Phillip Sprouse.
