SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 69

A RESOLUTION
To commend and recognize Film Louisiana for its contributions to economic development
and cultural enrichment of the state of Louisiana and to designate April 15, 2026, as
Film Louisiana Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
WHEREAS, Film Louisiana is a statewide trade association representing the motion
picture and television production industry; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana has established itself as a national leader in film and
television production, earning widespread recognition as "Hollywood South" due to its
unique locations, experienced workforce, and strong production infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, Film Louisiana plays a critical role in advocating for policies that foster
growth and sustainability within the state's film industry, ensuring that Louisiana remains
competitive in attracting domestic and international productions; and
WHEREAS, the film and television industry generates substantial economic benefits
for Louisiana by creating thousands of jobs, supporting small businesses, and contributing
millions of dollars in economic activity annually; and
WHEREAS, Film Louisiana's contributions to the economic development and
cultural enrichment of the state of Louisiana are invaluable; and
WHEREAS, Film Louisiana works diligently to promote workforce development,
support local talent, and strengthen partnerships between industry stakeholders and state
leaders; and
WHEREAS, the organization's contributions serve to promote the economic
prosperity and cultural vitality of the state of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Film Louisiana Day at the Louisiana State Capitol provides an
opportunity for members of the industry to engage with legislators, showcase their
contributions, and highlight the importance of maintaining a strong and vibrant film sector
in Louisiana.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and recognize Film Louisiana for its contributions to economic
development and cultural enrichment of the state of Louisiana and designates April 15, 2026,
as Film Louisiana Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
