A RESOLUTION
To designate Wednesday, April 15, 2026, as Child Care Association of Louisiana Day at the
Louisiana State Capitol and to commend childcare business owners, early childhood
educators, and support staff for their outstanding work.
WHEREAS, the Child Care Association of Louisiana is the longest-standing,
statewide nonprofit organization and represents the interests of licensed childcare providers
and the children they serve; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Child Care Association of Louisiana is to educate,
advocate, and collaborate to build a premier and proactive childcare industry for Louisiana
families; and
WHEREAS, the Child Care Association of Louisiana strives to improve the quality
and availability of childcare services by calling attention to the importance of high quality
childcare services for all children and families within the state; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's future depends on the quality of the early childhood
experiences provided to our children; and
WHEREAS, providing high quality early childcare services represents a worthy
commitment to the future of Louisiana children; and
WHEREAS, Tara Emery, president of the Child Care Association of Louisiana, has
stated that "Every child should have access to a high quality early childhood educational
program and be prepared to enter kindergarten ready to learn", and it is most fitting to
recognize both her and the association for their outstanding efforts to achieve this mission.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby designate Wednesday, April 15, 2026, as Child Care Association of Louisiana
Day at the Louisiana State Capitol; does hereby commend childcare business owners, early
childhood educators, and support staff for their incredible efforts; and does hereby urge all
citizens of our great state to recognize licensed childcare providers for their important work.
