SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 80

A RESOLUTION
To commend the next generation of Louisiana's franchised new car and heavy truck dealers
of the Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association for shaping the automotive
industry and carrying forward a legacy of service to the state and its communities
and to designate Tuesday, April 14, 2026, as Louisiana Automobile Dealer Day at
the Louisiana State Capitol.
WHEREAS, Louisiana's automotive industry has long been a significant driver of
the state's economic growth and prosperity; and
WHEREAS, the next generation of franchised new car and heavy truck dealers is
assuming leadership roles and continuing the tradition of job creation, economic investment,
and community development throughout Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's franchised dealers play a vital role in the state's economy
by fostering a competitive marketplace that prioritizes consumer satisfaction through fair
pricing, highly trained service technicians, exceptional customer service, and strong
employment opportunities; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's franchised dealers depend upon the people and resources
of this state, including a skilled workforce and a strong business climate, and in turn
contribute substantially to Louisiana's continued growth and prosperity; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's franchised dealers employ more than forty thousand
citizens, support tens of thousands of additional jobs in related industries, and maintains a
payroll exceeding one billion five hundred million dollars annually; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's franchised dealers generate more than one billion eight
hundred million dollars annually in state and local sales tax revenue; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's franchised dealers demonstrated their commitment to their
communities by contributing more than twenty million dollars to charitable organizations
during the previous year; and

WHEREAS, since 1937, the Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association has united
automobile dealers across the state, advocated for their interests, promoted ethical business
practices, and supported policies that foster economic growth and the long-term vitality of
Louisiana's automotive marketplace.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend the next generation of new car and heavy truck dealers of the
Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association for their leadership, service, and contributions
to the state of Louisiana, does hereby recognize the unwavering commitment of Louisiana
Automobile Dealers Association members to excellence in service, does hereby extend
enduring appreciation for all that these individuals do for Louisiana, and does hereby
designate Tuesday, April 14, 2026, as Louisiana Automobile Dealer Day at the Louisiana
State Capitol.
