SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 92

A RESOLUTION
To recognize Wednesday, April 22, 2026, as Counseling Day at the Louisiana State Capitol
and to commend the Louisiana Counseling Association for its tireless dedication to
the advocacy for mental health services in the state of Louisiana.
WHEREAS, professional counselors provide an essential role in strengthening the
mental health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities throughout
Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Counseling Association is a leading organization
dedicated to advancing the counseling profession by supporting licensed counselors and
promoting access to high-quality mental health services across the state; and
WHEREAS, professional counselors work diligently to address a wide range of
challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and family-related
issues, helping individuals cope with and overcome life's most difficult circumstances; and
WHEREAS, through compassion, expertise, and a commitment to service, counselors
provide safe and supportive environments where individuals can find comfort, healing, and
peace of mind; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Counseling Association tirelessly advocates for policies
that expand access to mental healthcare, reduce stigma, and ensure that individuals in all
communities receive the support they need.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby recognize Wednesday, April 22, 2026, as Counseling Day at the Louisiana State
Capitol and does hereby commend the Louisiana Counseling Association for its tireless
dedication to the advocacy for mental health services in the state of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Louisiana Counseling Association.
