1Sec. 1. Water retention structures assessment. Resolved: That the Department
2 of Environmental Protection shall assess the water retention structures, including dams, in
3 the State to examine erosion issues and other effects of rising water levels. The department
4 shall also assess water levels in lakes and ponds that contain water retention structures.
5Sec. 2. Report. Resolved: That, by December 3, 2025, the Department of
6 Environmental Protection shall submit a report based on its assessment in section 1 for
7 presentation to the Second Regular Session of the 132nd Legislature.
8SUMMARY
9 This resolve directs the Department of Environmental Protection to assess the water
10 retention structures, including dams, in the State to examine erosion issues and other effects
11 of rising water levels and to also assess water levels in lakes and ponds that contain water
12 retention structures. The department is required to submit a report based on its assessment
13 by December 3, 2025 for presentation to the Second Regular Session of the 132nd
14 Legislature.
