1Sec. 1. Judicial branch to perform inspection and study of Rumford
2Courthouse building. Resolved: That the judicial branch shall perform an inspection
3 and space study of the building that houses the Rumford Court located at 145 Congress
4 Street, Rumford, including the space occupied by the Rumford Police Department, to
5 determine the feasibility of necessary updates required to resume jury trials at the building,
6 including all required updates, structural and cosmetic improvements and an estimated
7 timeline for completion of the renovations.
8Sec. 2. Report. Resolved: That, by April 1, 2027, the judicial branch shall issue a
9 report on the inspection and space study, including all required updates, structural and
10 cosmetic improvements and an estimated timeline for completion of the renovations. The
11 judicial branch shall issue the report to the joint standing committee of the Legislature
12 having jurisdiction over judicial matters, which may report out a bill based upon the report.
13SUMMARY
14 This resolve directs the judicial branch to perform an inspection and space study of the
15 building that houses the Rumford Court and issue a report within 18 months of the effective
16 date of this resolve on all the necessary updates, structural and cosmetic improvements
17 required and an estimated timeline of completion of renovations to resume jury trials in the
18 building.
