1Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
2Sec. 1. 1 MRSA §402, sub-§1-B is enacted to read:
31-B. Legislative caucus. "Legislative caucus" means 3 or more Legislators of the
4 same political party meeting for the purpose of conducting legislative business on behalf
5 of the Legislature or a legislative committee.
6Sec. 2. 1 MRSA §402, sub-§2, ¶A, as enacted by PL 1975, c. 758, is amended to
7 read:
8 A. The Legislature of Maine and its committees and, subcommittees and legislative
9 caucuses;
10SUMMARY
11 This bill provides that legislative caucuses are public proceedings under the Freedom
12 of Access Act. The bill defines "legislative caucus" as 3 or more Legislators of the same
13 political party meeting for the purpose of conducting legislative business.
